Mifgash Musicale is a summer institute for synagogue musicians who already have some experience leading worship and want to deepen their skills and understanding through more detailed study.
This site (mifgashmusicale.org) is dedicated to promoting and supporting Mifgash Musicale as an important and valuable program advancing the heritage and future of music in liberal Jewish worship.
Mifgash Musicale Postponed to 2011
With the best of intentions, the 11th Annual Summer Institute for Synagogue Musicians, Mifgash Musicale, was scheduled to take place in July 2010. Unfortunately, due to circumstances involving many key faculty members, the session is being postponed to 2011.
The next session is already confirmed to take place on the HUC-JIR in Cincinnati, OH during July 24-28, 2011. The in-depth study – covering topics such as liturgy, repertoire, cantillation, and nusach – will focus on the general topic of High Holy Days worship.
