I had many enriching musical, spiritual and personal experiences at Mifgash. I attended, knowing almost nobody, and ventured out for dinner with a group of early arrivees the night before the conference started. We had such a great time and I formed the first of many Mifgash friendships that night!

In the following days, I was able to explore diverse musical styles, new and old settings, topics of personal interest to me - such as nusach, iyyunim, festival liturgy - and each experience was hands on. In other words, there was a lot of singing. Exploring the music with so many talented colleagues was inspiring. The staff were fantastic. They were extremely knowledgeable, accessible and very supportive.

If I were to choose a highlight of my Mifgash experience, I would have a hard time choosing between the organized learning vs. the informal gatherings and sing-alongs. I can only say that I loved Mifgash and that it has been very helpful to me since I came home to lead my congregation musically.

I give Mifgash Musicale my most heartfelt recommendation for anyone involved in the music program of their synagogue. In addition to the relationships you will form and the music you will discover, you will return home spiritually renewed.
